A.J. Wilson

Hi, my name is A.J. Wilson, artist living in San Francisco, CA. I started doing this type of art form 5 years ago because I wanted to artistically chronicle musical artist’s career accomplishments and albums, but realized my industry friends and fellow musicians don’t just give up their gold and platinum records! So my art form has evolved over the years in a desire to display artist’s careers via album and cover art. This art form is something I truly love to do because it gives me another way to creatively express my love for the music I have been intimately involved with over the years. I’ve been in the music business for over 30 years as a roadie, musician, and record producer. I have worked with internationally known artists such as Earth, Wind, and Fire, Prince, and Phil Collins. In addition, I have worked with local artists B Angie B, Jason “Mad Hatter”, Malika (Oakland rap artist who records with Funkgenie Records), Medina, and The Answer Band.
I have also enjoyed being affiliated with Hogstatus Productions, a 2 man musician/production team based in the San Francisco Mission District. Hogstatus’ production and musical credits include the album “Total Devastation In the Streets” (‘90), their official debut album “Legalize It” (’93 Arista/PGA), and Total Devastation smash hit “Many Clouds of Smoke” (’93 Arista/PGA) from their Total Devastation album which went #1 on KMEL RADIO. Other hits include “Storm of the Century” (’99 Hogstatus/Funkgenie Records) by artist Mad Hatter, and Hogstatus Productions’ “Takin Over” LP (’99 Hogstatus/Funkgenie Records). I also worked for Bill Graham Presents from 1983 to 1990.
